SOLDIERS OF THE CROSS:
Many of those who have joined ranks with us in this ministry were one time guerilla fighters; who had fought in the three decade long separatist war against the Sri Lankan state, but now have renounced violence, and all forms of militant aggression. They have instead sworn allegiance to their Lord and Master, the Lord Jesus Christ, and are now fully committed and dedicated to another kind of warfare; the warfare that’s fought not with guns and bullets but with the cross, and the Word of God (The Bible); they wage war against the forces of darkness that hold mankind captive, and enslaved to Sin and sickness, and eventually condemns them to a Godless eternity in Hell. The Pastor who oversees our church and ministry in the village of ‘Iyanaar kudiyiruppu’ in the Mulliavallai (Vanni) region is one such “Soldier of the Cross”.
This fledgling ministry is just sprouting up, and is a blessing to so many families in this region; families who have suffered immensely during the war years. I was there last Sunday visiting them and held our Sunday Worship service in this thatch-roofed shed. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated.
