“WAR MUSEUM – A sad memorial to a tragic past”…click to view more…

These weapons captured by the Sri Lankan forces and put on display at the “War Museum” at Puthukudiyiruppu in the Mullaitheevu district, send chills up your spine. These weapons sit in muted silence as a testament to an inglorious era in our nation’s history; a stark reminder of our tragic past.

These relics from the LTTE war machinery speak volumes of the intensity of the conflict, and the horrors those of that region would have had to live through all through the war years. The Mullaitheevu district was at the center of some of the fiercest battles that were fought during the three decade long war. Though a semblance of peace and normalcy has returned to this region, the battle scars are all too visible wherever you go!

We have set up a base in Mulliavalai, and in April of this year (2016) we had a series of meetings in the villages in this region; comforting those affected by the horrors of this conflict, and instilling hope and strength through the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
